Ty is the founder and principal of First Ascent Planning, an advice-only financial planning firm dedicated to helping people gain clarity and confidence in their financial lives. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Ty provides comprehensive, unbiased advice tailored to each client’s goals and values.
Before launching First Ascent Planning, Ty built and sold a successful artisan bakery (460 Bread). It was during that journey that Ty discovered his passion for financial planning - helping employees navigate benefits, manage debt, and plan for the future.
Ty brings the same entrepreneurial spirit, care, and practical insight to his financial planning practice. He believes that financial planning should be accessible, collaborative, and grounded in trust.
Ty is also a passionate rock climber who has established some of the most challenging rock climbs in the Teton region, where he lives with his wife and two sons.
