I entered XYZ in my plan but it's not showing up! (purchase, sale, income stream, expense, etc.)

Often more information is needed to understand what’s happening in a specific plan, but here is a shot in the dark:

Is it possible you have Withdrawal Strategy mode active? WS mode is a totally separate planning mode that is orthogonal to the normal planning experience in PL. And like the WS mode dialog describes, it overrides most of your normal planned items when it goes into effect, since the intent is to play out what one of the textbook strategies would look like from that point on, which may have little resemblance to the normal items in your plan.

Or if that’s not it, perhaps you could have the event bound to a milestone that never occurs?
