How Do I Set Up My Account in ProjectionLab?

Published Mar 11, 2025

Step 1: Choose a Setup

After registering, you’ll choose between two options:

  • Normal Walkthrough – Input your personal financial data to create a plan tailored to your actual financial situation. This is the recommended option when trying to build your real plan.

Normal Walkthrough

  • Sandbox Mode – Experiment with pre-filled example templates to explore features on ProjectionLab. We don’t recommend trying to build your real plan from a Sandbox example.

Step 2: User Setup

User Setup

Users can choose here whether to plan individually or as a couple, enter basic personal details such as name and birthday, and select their preferred display currency and locale.

Note that you can change these settings under the Current Finances tab and selecting About You on that page.

Step 3: Enter Your Current Finances

Enter Your Financial Information

Next, you’ll input key details about your current finances, including your cash and investment accounts, any outstanding debts, homes, vehicles, and any other assets you wish to include at the outset of your plan.

ProjectionLab ensures your data remains private and secure. (Learn more about our data security here.)

With your account set up, you’re ready to create your first plan. To get started, explore the Building Your First Plan guide or follow the tutorial directly on-screen when setting up your first plan.
