Build a Future You Love | Kyle Nolan's Journey from Employee to Entrepreneur with ProjectionLab
I’m excited to share that I was recently a guest on the ChooseFI podcast! 🥳
As most of you know, I typically do a lot more coding than public speaking. But in Episode 506, I couldn’t pass up the chance to sit down with Brad Barrett and share the journey of building ProjectionLab and how it has grown into a powerful financial planning tool for the Financial Independence community.
Brad’s podcast has been a real source of inspiration for me, and in this conversation, I share the ins and outs of my personal journey—from working a traditional 9-to-5, discovering the FIRE movement, learning about the spectrum of financial independence (leanFIRE, fatFIRE, chubbyFIRE, etc.), what FI means to me personally, and how I dove headfirst into building ProjectionLab to map it all out.
We talk about the challenges I faced, the fears I had to overcome, and the pivotal moments that shaped the story. Leaving the security of a steady job was not an easy decision, but it was driven by passion and a desire to create something meaningful.
Beyond ProjectionLab, we also discuss the importance of finding and pursuing what you’re passionate about, as well as the risks and sacrifices involved in creating something valuable. Whether you’re interested in FI or exploring a side project, I hope there’s something in this conversation for everyone!
I’d love for you to listen to the full episode and hear the story of ProjectionLab straight from the source. You can check it out here and join the conversation in Discord.
A huge thank you to Brad Barrett and the ChooseFI team for the opportunity to share my journey. And as always, a big thank you to the ProjectionLab community—your support is what keeps me motivated to continue evolving and improving the tool.
