Model an Inflation Spike or Decline, Recession or Depression

Updated Jul 13, 2026Jul 13, 2026

You may want to model different inflation models that are not linear over time, i.e. a larger-than-average inflation spike to see how your Plan would fare. You can do this by going to your Planโ€™s Settings > click Rates > click Advanced > click Inflation > click Inflation Rate to Open Advanced Editor.

In the Advanced Editor you can add different inflation rates for different ages, i.e. Age 36, Inflation 3%. Click the + button between the two pre-populated Age and Inflation boxes to add another Age + Inflation Percent, i.e. Age 45, Inflation 15%. Click the checkmark in the top right corner to save.
