Is my house duplicated on the cash-flow view?
Sometimes ProjectionLab users see housing expenses show up twice in their plan, especially if you own your home and are paying a mortgage. Here are a few things to check before you reach out to support.
Confirm Expenses doesnโt include your mortgage
If you have a mortgage, housing costs like property taxes and maintenance will appear in Real Assets, not Expenses. Review your Expenses to make sure you havenโt added housing costs there as well.
To remove a duplicate housing expense:
- On the Plan page, scroll below the graph to the Expenses section.
- Click on any housing-related expense you added.
- Delete it by clicking the trash can icon at the top right of the expense pop-up.
Confirm expenses in Real Assets are accurate
- On the Plan page, scroll below the graph to the Real Assets section.
- Click on your House.
- At the top of the pop-up, click the up/down arrows to expand all sections.
- Review Financing and Expenses to make sure the details are accurate and growing at the right rates year over year.
Expenses can include yearly maintenance costs, monthly HOA fees, and more. If anything doesnโt apply to your situation, leave it at 0% or $0.
Review the Cash Flow Sankey Chart
For a detailed breakdown of your housing and general expenses, navigate from Plan to Cash Flow at the top of the page. The Sankey chart shows each expense as a separate flow, making it easier to spot duplicates.
Following these steps should allow you to take a deeper dive into potential housing duplication issues.
